Envu Attends ASTMA Conference and Trade Exhibition 2025
The event officially began with the 2025 ASTMA Turf Industry Awards dinner, where Tim Warren of Glenelg Golf Club, SA, was awarded the 2025 ASTMA Excellence in Golf Course Management Award, proudly sponsored by Envu.
Last week, the annual Australian Sports Turf Management Conference & Trade Exhibition was held at the Sydney Showgrounds, the largest event of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere. Over three days, from 23 – 26 June, delegates from across Australia engaged in comprehensive education programs while exploring cutting-edge developments in turf management — spanning machinery, technology, research and product innovation.
The annual event draws hundreds of turf professionals each year, from Superintendents, Grounds Managers, Curators and Greenkeeping teams. This year’s agenda offered a rich variety of seminars covering agronomy, leadership, environmental management, biodiversity, and sustainability. These sessions were tailored to equip turf professionals with the knowledge and skills to meet the evolving needs of the turf industry.
Alongside technical presentations, the conference featured workshops and seminars on management and leadership skills as well as inspiring sessions on emerging technology and maintenance practices. Together, these sessions provided attendees with practical insights needed to advance their careers and enhance the presentation of their facilities.
The event officially commenced on Monday evening with the 2025 ASTMA Turf Industry Awards dinner. One of the highlights of the night was the presentation of the 2025 ASTMA Excellence in Golf Course Management Award, proudly sponsored by Envu, to Tim Warren of Glenelg Golf Club, SA.
Selected from a competitive field of finalists, Tim was honoured for his outstanding contribution to golf course management. With nearly 30 years in turf management, Tim has led a major transformation of Glenelg’s surfaces, bunkering and turf quality. Under his leadership, Tim has been instrumental in the planning and delivery of Glenelg’s in-house Course Enhancement Plan, a significant and highly complex project helping to modernise and future-proof the course through strategic upgrades and sustainability initiatives.
Under his leadership at Glenelg, Tim has built a strong and positive team culture, mentoring emerging turf managers and demonstrating a genuine commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship. This is Tim’s second ASTMA Award in recent years, having won the Claude Crockford Award in 2022 alongside Monina Gilbey. In receiving this year’s award, Tim joins a rare club of superintendents to have won both the Excellence and Crockford Awards.
This year’s conference proved to be a resounding success, providing attendees with valuable opportunities for knowledge sharing and connection with industry peers across all areas of turf management. Envu is proud to participate in this vital platform for elevating standards and driving innovation, while continuing to build strong partnerships and support turf professionals in shaping the future of the turf industry.
Till we meet again next year!
